We aim to change the narrative that only some students can excel in math by equipping all learners with the skills, confidence, and mindset to succeed.
Meet Our Founder
Lybroan James, Ed.M.
Lybroan James brings over 20 years of experience in education, with a focus on mathematics instruction and equity. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Economics from UCLA and a Master of Education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
Throughout his career, Lybroan has designed and presented teacher trainings nationally, supporting over 38,000 educators on issues of equity, effective instruction, and social-emotional learning. His instructional design contributed to a teacher training program that produced an additional five months of math growth, as documented in an i3 grant study.
In 2019, as a math educator at North High School, he led efforts that resulted in a 26% increase in state math scores for African-American students.
Lybroan founded STEMULATE Solutions to address systemic inequities in math education and to empower all students to succeed. His work continues to inspire educators and students to embrace mathematics as a tool for empowerment and change.
Our Consultants
At STEMULATE Solutions, our consultants are more than instructional experts—they are advocates, coaches, and thought partners committed to transforming the way students experience math and STEM learning. Guided by our MASTER framework (Making Academics Social, Transformative, Engaging, and Rigorous), our team works alongside educators and school leaders to create learning environments where every student feels seen, challenged, and empowered.
Our consultants bring deep expertise in culturally relevant pedagogy, mathematics instruction, social-emotional learning, and equity-centered leadership. Many have served as classroom teachers, instructional leaders, district coaches, and curriculum specialists with a shared commitment to improving outcomes for historically underserved students.
Under the leadership of Lybroan James, our consultants help schools move beyond traditional approaches by designing learning experiences that increase student engagement, strengthen mathematical identity, and promote academic confidence. Whether facilitating professional development, coaching teachers, or supporting district initiatives, our team is focused on helping educators build rigorous, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classrooms where all students can thrive.
