Meet Our Founder

Lybroan James, Ed.M.

Lybroan James brings over 20 years of experience in education, with a focus on mathematics instruction and equity. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Economics from UCLA and a Master of Education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.

Throughout his career, Lybroan has designed and presented teacher trainings nationally, supporting over 38,000 educators on issues of equity, effective instruction, and social-emotional learning. His instructional design contributed to a teacher training program that produced an additional five months of math growth, as documented in an i3 grant study.

In 2019, as a math educator at North High School, he led efforts that resulted in a 26% increase in state math scores for African-American students.

Lybroan founded STEMULATE Solutions to address systemic inequities in math education and to empower all students to succeed. His work continues to inspire educators and students to embrace mathematics as a tool for empowerment and change.
