Underwater Solar Panel Dive Test Results

Two divers were able to test the Solar Seaweed design in experiments conducted in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Corpus Christie, Texas. The design proved that submerged biomimetic photovoltaic (PV) solar panels can be operated underwater in shallow water deployments, with an interesting test result showing that near-surface panels capture light reflected from surface waves even when facing away from the sun.
